Dan Carter has been named winner of the BBC's overseas Sports Personality of the Year award for 2015 after the honour was decided by public vote for the first time.
The fly-half's heroics with the All Blacks at the Rugby World Cup helped him to beat off competition from the likes of Usain Bolt, Novak Djokovic, Katie Ledecky, Jordan Spieth and Serena Williams.
Carter scored 19 of New Zealand's 34 points on their way to defeating Australia in October's World Cup final at Twickenham in a season which also saw him help the Kiwis retain the Bledisloe Cup for a record 13th consecutive time.
Receiving the honour, Carter said: "I'm thrilled to have been voted BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year by the UK public. It's been an incredible year for me on British soil and the support has been phenomenal.
"It was an incredibly competitive shortlist and I'm honoured to have been recognised alongside these great sportsmen and women from around the world."
The Sports Personality of the Year ceremony is due to take place this Sunday evening in Belfast.
