Gavin Henson has apologised for his actions on a flight back from Scotland that saw him suspended by his club Cardiff Blues.
The Wales international was banned with "immediate effect" by the Blues for his actions on the plane following his side's 31-3 defeat to Glasgow Warriors.
It was announced last night that the airline involved had launched an investigation into the incident.
In a statement, Henson apologised for "drinking and behaving inappropriately" and admitted that he is "truly embarrassed and sorry" for what he did.
"I would like to publicly apologise for drinking on that flight which is inappropriate behaviour," he said.
"I have let my teammates, coaches, management, sponsors and indeed my family down with my actions. Drinking on that plane was inexcusable and I know that I must take responsibility for it."
Henson has been capped 33 times for his country since his debut in 2001.
