Twenty-fifth seed Florian Mayer has crashed out to Lithuanian qualifier Ricardas Berankis on day four of the Australian Open, losing his second-round match 6-2 6-3 6-1.
Berankis dominated from the outset to stun his more experienced opponent, with the 22-year-old taking the first set in just 24 minutes.
Mayer couldn't find a way to hurt the serve of his opponent as Berankis continued to unleash winners on a consistent basis in the second set.
Bernakis wrapped up a breakthrough win in straight sets and will play Andy Murray in round three if the Scot gets past Joao Sousa later today.
