Xavier Malisse has dropped just six games on his way to a straight-sets victory over Pablo Andujar in Melbourne.
The Belgian punished the world number 42 for some poor serving to take the first set in just under 40 minutes.
Andujar could only manage to get 40% of his first serves in court, while Malisse struck four winners.
Malisse took full control of the contest with a straightforward 6-1 triumph in the second set, despite Andujar improving greatly on serve.
It was all over with just over one hours and 20 minutes minutes on the clock as Malisse marched to a 6-2 victory, setting up a meeting with either David Goffin or Fernando Verdasco.
