Nicolas Almagro has advanced into round four in Indian Wells after a 4-6 6-2 7-6 victory over Santiago Giraldo.
Almagro twice surrendered his serve in the opening set, with Giraldo claiming a 6-4 lead in the match.
Almagro began to dominate as the match progressed, however, and broke his opponent three times on his way to the second set.
Both players remained on serve in a pulsating third set, but it was Giraldo who wobbled when it mattered most, eventually losing the tie-break 7-2.
