John Isner has booked his place in the last 32 of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells after defeating Kevin Anderson 7-6 6-2.
The first set went completely to serve, with Isner failing to convert a break point in game 10 to win the set.
The tie-break was hard fought too, with Isner winning 8-6 to take the opener.
Isner stepped his game up in the second set, breaking in game one and game seven to secure the victory without giving Anderson the chance to break his serve.
The American looks likely to play against world number one Novak Djokovic, who plays unseeded Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas tomorrow, in the next round.
