Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live text coverage of the opening day's tennis at London 2012.
The tennis event this year will take place at arguably the most iconic venue in the sport - Wimbledon, or the All England Club.
Most of the big names of the sport will be vying for gold, with the only notable omission that of Spain's Rafael Nadal, who pulled out earlier this month.

20.46GAME, SET AND MATCH! The British duo can't break back and the more experienced Germans have just done enough here.

20.38Kerber and Lisicki held to take a 5-2 lead and now Robson and Watson have held to force the Germans to serve it out.
20.33BREAK! Kerber and Lisicki save two break points on their own serve at 2-2 before breaking serve to take a 4-2 lead in the final set.
20.29That just leaves our golden girls Robson and Watson left on Court 12. They've just thrown away the chance of a break in the fifth game of the final set as Lisicki and Kerber hold on for a 3-2 advantage.
20.26GAME, SET AND MATCH! It's victory for Benneteau and Gasquet in the Anglo-French battle against Fleming and Hutchins. They close out the match 7-5 6-3.
20.23Thank you, Jack. Right, the two remaining matches we're interested in involve British duos, remember. Fleming and Hutchins are looking like they're about to go out to Benneteau and Gasquet, while Robson and Watson are on serve with Lisicki and Kerber in the decider.
20.19Anyway, I'm going to hand back to my colleague Pascal Lemesre who will take you through the day's two remaining matches.
20.14That ws about as straightforward as it gets for Juan Martin del Potro. The Argentine extends his record over Dodig to 2-0 thanks to the straight-sets victory on Court One.
20.09GAME, SET AND MATCH Del Potro 6-4 6-1 Dodig
20.06Del Potro holds again and is now just one game away from the second round. Dodig to serve 1-5 down.
20.02It's a swashbuckling rally from the two men but it's Del Potro who breaks again as Dodig flings a backhand wide. The Argentine takes a 4-1 lead and looks firmly on course for round two.
19.59Del Potro consolidates the break by holding serve to take a 3-1 lead.
19.54BREAK! Del Potro in control now as he breaks Dodig with a powerful backhand that flies past the Croatian. The Argentine leads 2-1 and will now serve.
19.53SET! British duo Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins have it all to do in their match with Frenchmen Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet after losing the first set 5-7.
19.51GAME, SET AND MATCH: The Frrench pairing of Michel Llodra and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga are through in the men's doubles with a 6-3 7-5 victory over the Argentine team of David Nalbandian and Eduardo Schwank.
19.49Del Potro now holds and it's 1-1 on a quiet Court One.
19.46That said, Dodig gets this second set off to a determined looking start as he holds to lead 1-0.
19.43SET! Del Potro holds to love with a ferocious ace and takes the first set 6-4 in the process. Can't see the former US Open winner letting this one go...
19.41Kiss of death or what? Robson and Watson are broke so it's now 2-2 in their match with Lisinki and Kerber.
19.39Meanwhile, Dodig holds so it'll be Del Potro to serve out this first set.
19.39Robson and Watson have another break against Lisicki and Kerber. The Brits are a set up and 2-1 ahead in the second.
19.36Dodig is unable to compete with the Del Potro serve as the Argentine holds to go within a game of taking this first set. The eighth seed leads 5-3.
19.34Now we have a shot of two Brazilians passing an oversized tennis ball between them in the crowd. Lovely stuff.
19.33Del Potro hits a forehand long and Dodig holds to make it 3-4.
19.30Watson and Robson (they sound like a detective duo, don't they) take the first set 6-1 against Kerber and Lisicki. Meanwhile, Del Potro (who looks like he's just got out of bed) is 4-2 up against Dodig.
19.23Ok, I'm off for my dinner and that means my colleague Jack Prescott will take over. Over to you, Jack...
19.22Watson and Robson are doing a fab job over on 12 and now have a 5-1 lead over Kerber and Lisickci. The British pair now serving for the set.
19.18GAME, SET AND MATCH! Keothavong can't match Baltacha's achievement in reaching the second round as Wozniacki serves out for a 4-6 6-3 6-2 win.
19.15The final match on No. 1 Court today is between Croatia's Ivan Dodig and Argentine former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro.
19.12DOUBLE BREAK! Keothavong looks all but out of it as Wozniacki breaks again for a 5-2 lead in the final set.
19.10BREAK! It's a dream start for Robson and Watson, they've won the opening three games against the German pair over on 12.
19.07GAME, SET AND MATCH! The Murray brothers have fallen at the first hurdle. Jamie's service game is weak and Andy nets a backhand on the reach as the Austrian's close out the match at the first time of asking.
19.05More Brits take to the court as young duo Heather Watson and Laura Robson come out on Court 12 to face the German pair of Sabine Lisicki and Angelique Kerber.
19.02Just getting underway on Court 14 is another doubles match with a British interest. Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins face a tough test against the French duo of Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet.
18.59Andy has new balls and has no problem holding serve. Pressure back on the Austrians. 5-5.
18.59GAME, SET AND MATCH! A brotherly duo faring a little better are the famous Americans, the Bryan brothers. Bob and Mike have just come through their first-round encounter with Brazilian's Bellucci and Sa 7-6[5] 6-7[5] 6-3.
18.57BREAK! It goes from bad to worse for the Brits as Keothavong is broken by Wozniacki. The Dane taking a 2-1 lead in the decider over on Centre.
18.56The Austrian pair hold to-30 and are now within a game of knocking the Murray brothers out. Andy to serve at 4-5.
18.53BREAK! Uh oh. Jamie loses his serve to-love as Andy nets a backhand volley. Silly boys.
18.50BREAK! Andy Murray is really up for this. The world number four hits a forehand down-the-middle slap on the baseline and the British duo have a 4-3 lead, with Jamie serving in the final set.
18.49GAME, SET AND MATCH! In the men's draw, Alex Bogomolov Jr has just reached round two with a 7-5 7-6[5] win over Argentina's Carlos Berlocq. The Russian next faces 11th seed Nicolas Almagro of Spain.

18.46Keothavong settles the nerves with an early hold of serve in the deciding set on Centre.
18.45GAME, SET AND MATCH! Kvitova holds serve to seal a three-set win over Ukraine's Bondarenko. The Czech sixth seed will next face China's Shuai Peng.
18.43The Murray brother's mum, Judy, is surprisingly on Centre watching Keothavong, not seeing her boys in Olympic action on No. 2.
18.41SET! Wozniacki holds to-30 and we're into a final set on Centre.
18.39BREAK! Bad news for the Murray boys as Peya and Melzer break back on No. 2. 2-2 in the third.
18.38BREAK! Just as I say that Wozniacki breaks yet again and will now serve for the second set at 5-3.
18.36Meanwhile, on Centre Keothavong has made a comeback in the second, breaking back against Wozniacki and now serving at 3-4.
18.35Kvitova is within a game of victory over Bondarenko on No. 1 at 5-3.
18.34Back to the live action and the Murray brothers are at deuce and 2-1, still with the break on No. 2.

18.22Right, I'll begin the round-up of what happened earlier today...
18.21BREAK! What a great way to overcome the loss of the second set. The Murray brothers benefit from a touch of the net cord and have the early advantage on No. 2. Andy now serving.
18.18Over on Centre, Wozniacki has taken a hold of the second against Keothavong and leads the set 3-0.
18.16SET! Andy's return is straight to Melzer and the lefty lashes away the volley to level the match.
18.15Jamie nets and the Austrian's have a set point on serve.
18.15When I get a minute soon, I'll try and give you a rundown of all that's happened today.
18.14Brilliant from the Murray brothers, who come back from 5-2 down in the breaker to level it at 6-6 at the second change of ends.
18.12Also in action in the women's draw at the moment we have 2011 Wimbledon champion Kvitova taking on Ukraine's Bondarenko. The Czech took the opener 6-4 but has been pegged back to 1-1 by losing the second 7-5.
18.08In the women's singles, British hope Keothavong has brilliantly taken the opening set against eighth seed Wozniacki of Denmark.
18.06Andy and Jamie are up against the Austrian duo of Peya and Melzer, who have just held to send the second set into a tie-break.
18.05The highlight of the evening's action at the moment is the British Murray brothers in doubles action on No. 2 Court. There's been some wonderful exchanges at the net and the British pair are within a game of victory at 7-5 6-5.
18.03Good evening! I'm terribly sorry this is our first post in six hours but we had all kinds of technical problems this afternoon. All I can say is that we will be providing our quickest updates for the remainder of the day's tennis.
12.01BREAK! Clijsters breaks again to take a commanding 5-1 lead in the set. The Belgian will serve for the opener on No. 2.
11.57BREAK! Clijsters makes the breakthrough in game four and she'll now serve at 3-1 in the opening set.
11.56Briefly moving away from the action, the Pet Shop Boys gave fans at SW19 an unexpected surprise by performing during practice. Read more by clicking here.
11.53Over on 14, Giraldo and Harrison have begun on serve. The American leads 2-1 in the early stages.
11.51She holds as Vinci nets an easy forehand, good game this one.
11.51Rally of the match so far sees Clijsters brilliantly defend off the backhand wing before taking control and arrowing a forehand up the line to set up game point.
11.49Vinci has the first break point of the match but she can't take it, limply netting a Clijsters serve down the T.
11.48The grass is a glorious green on No. 2 with the sun beating down on the Clijsters-Vinci affair. The Italian held serve to level the match at 1-1 moments ago.
11.47Looking ahead to the first matches on the two show courts, Centre and No.1, we have the sixth seed of the Czech Republic Tomas Berdych against Belgium's Steve Darcis first up on Centre, while on No.1 Argentine veteran David Nalbandian has a tough match against seventh-seeded Serbian Janko Tipsarevic. Players expected on court in a little over ten minutes at midday.
11.44In the men's Lacko has also shown no early nerves to hold serve against Petzschner.
11.43Pazsek, Ivanovic and Peng also hold serve at the first time of asking.

11.36There are just two singles matches that I haven't mentioned about to get underway, both in the women's draw. On Court 7, France's Alize Cornet faces impressive Austrian Tamira Pazsek while on Court 12 Chinese Taipei's Su-Wei Hsieh takes on China's Shuai Peng.
11.30The other British pair is that of Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins, they face French duo Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet later this evening about 6pm.
11.28Doubles-wise, there is a strong British interest today with two men's pairs and a solitary women's duo in action. Andy Murray and brother Jamie are in action at around half five this evening and so are the young women Laura Robson and Heather Watson.
11.22The All England Club has been transformed for the games and the usual deep green we're so used to seeing has been replaced by the hot pink of the Games.
11.19On the men's side of the draw there are two first-round encounters getting underway at half 11. On Court 11 Slovakia's Lukas Lacko faces Germany's Philipp Petzschner, while over on 14 another Colombian, Santiago Giraldo, takes on American hot prospect Ryan Harrison.
11.15Also in around 15 minutes we have Serbian beauty Ana Ivanovic up on Court 18 against American Christina McHale.
11.13First up, we have six singles matches beginning at half 11. The pick of which is probably Belgian crowd favourite Kim Clijsters taking on Italy's Roberta Vinci on No. 2 Court.
11.09The women's Wimbledon champion, Serena Williams, is also on the main court today. She faces Serbian Jelena Jankovic in the second match on Centre.
11.07Swiss Federer, seeded first for the men's draw, is third up on Centre Court this afternoon against Colombia's Alejandro Falla.
