David Ferrer has defeated Marcel Granollers in straight sets to move into the third round of the Paris Masters.
The world number five wasted no time in advancing to the last 16 with a 6-1 6-3 victory over his Spanish compatriot.
Ferrer allowed Granollers to win just six points on his own serve as he eased to a one-set advantage.
Granollers put up some resistance at the start of the second with two service holds, but Ferrer began to dominate from the baseline to earn himself an opportunity to serve out the match.
However, Granollers saved two match points and broke Ferrer's serve to bring the set back to 5-3, but Ferrer struck in the next game to finally seal the win.
Ferrer has already sealed his place at next week's ATP Tour Finals in London.
