Cameron Norrie has registered victory over Jose Hernandez-Fernandez to move through to the second round of the Lyon Open.
Norrie has benefited from a number of withdrawals to secure a place in the main draw at Roland Garros, and that has enabled the British number three to feature in the ATP250 event.
The 22-year-old is looking to move into the world's top 100 before the start of the grass-court season, and the 7-6 6-1 win over the qualifier has kept the left-hander on course for that target.
Both players recorded a break of serve apiece during the first set before Norrie prevailed 7-5 in the tie-break, but the second was a one-way affair as Norrie struck three times to wrap up the triumph in one hour and 40 minutes.
Norrie could go up against Frenchman Gael Monfils in the second round.
