James Blake has admitted that he has been the butt of some ageist banter in the US Open locker room.
The 32-year-old is currently in the middle of his 14th season on the men's professional circuit.
Having spent years handing out the jokes, the American has confessed that he is not too surprised to be on the receiving end.
"I knew I was going to get them, because when I was a kid starting out around here I dished them out," he told reporters. "So I knew they would come back to haunt me. I remember I used to make fun of Todd Martin. Todd was one of my key guys I would get.
"I made fun of him for taking so long to warm up, for his grey hair, for all that kind of stuff, for just in general being old. He said, 'Just wait, just wait. You will be, too.'
"Now I'm getting it from everyone. I'm getting the old jokes, the grandpa jokes, and I'm okay with that."
Blake has never gone beyond the quarter-final of a Grand Slam.
