Dominant Caroline Wozniacki sends Aliaksandra Sasnovich packing

Caroline Wozniacki secures passage into round three of the US open with a straight-sets win over Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

Caroline Wozniacki has booked her place in the third round of the US Open with a comprehensive 6-3 6-4 victory over Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus.

The Dane saw off her opponent inside 40 minutes, with a late fightback from Sasnovich in the second set not quite enough to force a turnaround.

The 10th seed wrapped up the match by serving out the final game to 15, putting the Belarusian to the sword with a powerful first serve she could only stab at.

Wozniacki will take on Andrea Petkovic of Germany in round three.
