Richard Gasquet ousts Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets

France's Richard Gasquet is through to the fourth round at Wimbledon after cruising to a win over 11th seed Grigor Dimitrov.

Richard Gasquet has stunned Grigor Dimitrov in the third round at Wimbledon, beating the 11th seed 6-3 6-4 6-4 on Centre Court.

The 11th seed came under pressure early on, dropping his first service game of the match as Gasquet raced to a 3-1 lead, and held his serve for the rest of the opener to take the set.

Dimitrov made a better start to the second set as he tried to level the match, but a run of unforced errors from the Bulgarian let the 21st seed get the break, which was enough for him to wrap up the set.

The third set was close at the start as the Bulgarian looked for a way to get back into the match, but the Frenchman struck midway through the set, forcing Dimitrov to serve to stay in the tournament at 5-3 down.

Last year's beaten semi-finalist held, but Gasquet served it out in the next game, surviving several deuces to set up a fourth-round match with the winner of Milos Raonic and Nick Kyrgios.
