Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes hints at defensive signing

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes reveals that he could sign a defender before the end of the month.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has admitted that he may be forced to sign a defender following an injury to Ash Taylor.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that Taylor would be sidelined for "some weeks" due to a knee problem.

With centre-back Russell Anderson also out of action, McInnes has revealed that he could delve into the transfer market before the end of the month.

"We have got two centre-halves out injured, so it's not ideal," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We are not just picking it up now, there are players out there who we are aware of. Things can happen quite quickly in football but we are not anticipating anyone in before Friday."

Aberdeen are currently two points clear of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
