Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere "available for selection" after West Brom match

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirms that Jack Wilshere will not play against West Brom tomorrow, but could be "available" for Sunday's trip to Sunderland.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere will be "available for selection" after tomorrow evening's Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion.

The England international has not played for the Gunners at all this season after breaking his leg, but the midfielder is on course for a comeback.

The 24-year-old has featured for the Under-21s in three games in recent weeks, although Wenger has claimed that the first team's clash against West Brom at the Emirates on Thursday has come too soon for Wilshere.

"He has had no setbacks and is getting better," Wenger told reporters in Wednesday's press conference. "He will be available after West Brom.

"In every game he was sharper, he has a good fitness basis. He is available for selection."

Wilshere could be included in the matchday squad for Sunday's trip to Sunderland.
