Olivier Giroud feels that he is over an initial period of transition to English football and is ready to start firing for Arsenal.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has said that he is happy with life in the Premier League but insists that there is more to come.

The French international has scored seven goals in all competitions since signing from Montpellier during the close season.

Giroud admits that he took time to settle but feels ready to have a big impact over a busy run of December fixtures.

He told the club's official website: "Things improved when I scored my first goal, although I had no doubts that if I worked hard in training I could always score.

"Getting off the mark against Coventry was a relief, and scoring at West Ham was another. That was really the beginning of my season, my 'good debut' if you like and it launched things for me.

"After that I succeeded in playing well, scoring and making assists, and if I look at my ratio of minutes to goals it's pretty good. It's been an interesting few months but now I want to do more. I'm an Arsenal player and, rightly, expectations are high."

The Gunners are without a goal in three league games, while Giroud is primed to start for Arsene Wenger's side against West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.
