Aaron Ramsey out for festive schedule

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey will miss the festive period with a thigh strain, reveals Arsene Wenger.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey will miss Arsenal's festive schedule after picking up a thigh strain in yesterday's 3-1 win over West Ham United.

The Welsh midfielder, who turned 23 on Boxing Day, pulled up in the 65th minute and was replaced by Lukas Podolski, who went on to score a the Gunners' third at Upton Park.

"It looks like a thigh strain," the Daily Mail quotes the Frenchman as saying. "For me, I don't know how serious the thigh strain is but the Christmas period is certainly over for him.

"I don't know how long it will be. We will have to see tomorrow morning. He knew straight away, but we have to see."

The North London side face games against Newcastle United, Cardiff City and Tottenham Hotspur (FA Cup) over the next eight days.
