Robin van Persie believes that Arsenal's tough games will drive them on to finish third ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

Robin van Persie has claimed that the difficult games during the final stages of the season will bring out the best in Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger's team face Manchester City next weekend and will also welcome Chelsea to the Emirates but captain van Persie believes that they have the quality to finish in third place.

The Dutch striker said: "We have seven more games to play and I believe we can come third. It won't be easy, everyone is fighting for every point and our opportunity is next week against Man City. We have to go for it and believe and we will.

Tottenham Hotspur's 3-1 victory over Swansea City means that the North London rivals are currently level on points.
