Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is likely to play in the club's next Under-21 fixture against Reading next Monday.
The 20-year-old has missed the last 14 months of action through injury but made his comeback for the Gunners in the 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion U-21's on Monday.
The England international started the match and played over an hour before being replaced.
Afterwards, Wilshere said that he "felt okay" but "shattered".
Wenger has already ruled out the possibility of Wilshere playing for England later this month, with Arsenal keen for him to line up in their next Under-21 match against Reading at Underhill on Monday, October 8.
