Arsenal face the possibility of missing out on a summer deal for Sporting Lisbon teenager Tiago Tomas, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly facing the possibility of missing out on a summer deal for Sporting Lisbon teenager Tiago Tomas.

The 18-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for his Portuguese club, scoring six times and contributing three assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal continue to be strongly linked with the teenager, who has a €60m (£51m) release clause in his current deal with the Green and Whites.

However, according to The Sun, the London club's failure to qualify for Europe next season means that they could miss out on his signature.

The report also claims that Sporting's financial position has strengthened following their Portuguese title success, which has helped them qualify for next season's Champions League.

Tomas, who penned a new five-year contract in June 2020, has scored six goals and registered four assists in 42 first-team appearances for Ruben Amorim's team.
