Diego claims Arsenal interest

Wolfsburg playmaker Diego believes that numerous English clubs, including Arsenal and Southampton, are keen on signing him.

Wolfsburg playmaker Diego has claimed that numerous English clubs are keen on signing him.

The Brazil international, who has been capped 33 times at senior level, believes that Arsenal and Southampton are among his admirers.

"I know there is interest from Premier League clubs. I have heard Arsenal is one of them," Diego told reporters.

"It would be the ideal destination for me because their style suits my characteristics. Of course I would say yes to Arsenal.

"Southampton have great organisation and discipline and big talents like Adam Lallana. But, again, there is nothing concrete."

Diego's current contract with Wolfsburg is due to expire at the end of the season.
