Pep Guardiola has reportedly pinpointed Dani Ceballos as a target ahead of next summer's transfer window.
The 23-year-old, who was part of Spain's triumphant Euro Under-21 Championship campaign over the summer, opted to leave Real Madrid on a loan basis after it became clear that he would not receive many minutes under Zinedine Zidane.
Ceballos has since moved to Arsenal to work under fellow Spaniard Unai Emery, who has handed the youngster 10 appearances in all competitions so far this term.
According to a Spanish media outlet, Guardiola will instruct Manchester City to target Ceballos, who is thought to be valued at around £50m by Los Blancos.
The Catalan manager is keen to secure a replacement for David Silva, with the Spaniard leaving at the end of the season, while Phil Foden also could seek pastures new.
Ceballos has been one of the main beneficiaries of Emery opting against using Mesut Ozil, theoretically his main competition, so far this season.
