Arsenal are reportedly ready to challenge Newcastle United for Loic Remy's signature.
The French international has spent the entire of the ongoing campaign on a season-long loan deal with the Magpies from Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has made it known that he would like to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent basis, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has now entered the running, according to the Daily Mail.
The report added that Wenger has had scouts watching Remy in action for the majority of the season.
Remy joined QPR from Marseille for £8m in January 2013.
