Report: Arsene Wenger eyes up Morgan Schneiderlin

Arsenal weigh up a £25m January move for in-form Southampton midfielder and reported Tottenham target Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly placed Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin at the top of his wishlist of January signings.

The France international was thought to have fallen out with the Saints' hierarchy in the summer after they blocked his proposed transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the 24-year-old looks to have recovered from that disappointment and has established himself as a prominent figure in Ronald Koeman's side this season.

Nevertheless, Arsenal will test the waters by lodging a £25m bid in the winter transfer window, according to The Mirror.

Southampton thumped Sunderland 8-0 on Saturday on a day that saw the Gunners held to a 2-2 draw at home to Hull City.

Schneiderlin is contrated to the St Mary's club until 2017.
