Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had a £16m bid for Flamengo midfielder Gerson rejected by the Brazilian outfit.
The 23-year-old, who returned to his native Brazil last summer following an underwhelming stint at Roma, has amassed four goals from 43 appearances across all competitions for the Brasileirao champions.
Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly both keeping tabs on Gerson, and Spurs are understood to have made contact with Flamengo regarding a potential summer deal.
However, according to Goal, the Club World Cup finalists have rejected Tottenham's advances for the midfielder.
The report claims that Gerson is determined to prove his worth at Flamengo, with manager Jorge Jesus expressing his desire to keep hold of several key players despite the financial implications arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
Gerson's current deal at Flamengo is set to expire in 2023.
