Paul Lambert confident for Swansea City clash

Paul Lambert is confident that his strikers can threaten Swansea City in their away trip on Saturday.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has insisted that his side have the firepower to trouble Swansea City on Saturday, even without Christian Benteke for the rest of the season.

The Villans are on a poor run of form and have scored just three times in five Premier League games, which means that they are still looking over their shoulder with three games left to play.

"They won't be nervous. That won't come into it," Lambert told Sky Sports News. "You give them the belief that they will go and win, and I know we have a goal threat. I know we have that attacking threat.

"We know we're up against a good side in Swansea but we will go with the confidence to win. Last time we were playing a really good Southampton team. In the second half, especially, we gave as good as we got.

"We need to go to Swansea and have that same desire. And we will go and try to win - I will never change that philosophy."

Villa would move above Swansea in the league table with a win.
