Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar has insisted that the side are "improving" on an almost daily basis.
Paul Lambert's team have been in and around the relegation zone for most of the season and currently sit 17th in the Premier League table.
However, despite their lowly position, Dutch international Vlaar believes that enhancements are being made in time for their 12 remaining matches of the season.
"We have to believe and show each other that is the only way. We are improving. We grow and we improve every day - that is the most important thing," he told the club's official website.
"You know what you have to do. It all starts with working very hard, giving everything that you have then of course you need the results for confidence. Now we've won so that will help us going-forward for the rest of the season."
Next up for Villa is a trip to Arsenal at the weekend.
