Aston Villa are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, according to a report.
The 25-year-old has been used 15 times in the Premier League this season by Brendan Rodgers, making him an important part of the Foxes squad on a matchday.
In 2018, the Nigerian international signed a six-year contract, and that means he is tied down until 2024, should the club refuse to sell him in the upcoming transfer market.
According to the Daily Star, Aston Villa are set to have £50m in the summer and Steven Gerrard is set to focus on the central midfield position, with Ndidi being one of his top targets.
It is believed that Rodgers would push against the decision to sell the defensive midfielder, but if the offer was big enough, then a deal could end up going through.
Leicester City will be in action on Thursday night in the Europa Conference League against Randers.
