Mario Suarez: 'We must keep our philosophy'

Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez insists that his side must maintain their principles as they bid to retain their La Liga title.

Mario Suarez has insisted that Atletico Madrid must maintain their principles as they bid to retain their La Liga title.

It has been a busy summer for the capital outfit, both in terms of outgoings and incomings.

However, Suarez has said that Atletico's "philosophy' must remain the same regardless of the personnel.

"The philosophy and our style of play is going to be the same. We know what's at stake. There are different players and we must find variations at certain times. But the idea of the game is the same," he told AS.

"Mono Burgos said the other day that we are not going to change. If you change, in the end you lose. Yes, it's true we have top players with different characteristics. We no longer have Diego Costa but we will have to adapt. The coach makes sure everything fits well."

Atletico return to La Liga action away to Real Madrid next weekend.
