Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Atletico Madrid defender Felipe.
Despite having already added three midfield and forward players to an already packed squad earlier in the month, Steve Cooper has been keen to secure fresh faces for defensive areas.
Priority has been placed on trying to bring in a new goalkeeper, a result of first-choice stopper Dean Henderson being absent until at least the back end of February.
While that pursuit remains ongoing, the East Midlands outfit have strengthened their backline with the signing of Felipe.
The Brazilian has been used on only four occasions by Atletico during 2022-23, just one of those outings coming since the resumption of action after the World Cup.
However, Cooper wanted to bring in a further experienced head, and Forest were able to successfully negotiate a deal and personal terms with the Spanish giants and the 33-year-old.

Speaking to the club's official website, Felipe said: "It was a dream of mine to play in the Premier League and I'm really excited to be part of this wonderful, fast-growing club.
"You can see it's a club looking to really grow. It's a big challenge for me and I made a clear decision to be part of the history here and grow with the club."
While a fee has not been disclosed, it is expected to be minimal, while Felipe has penned a contract until the end of 2023-24.
Wolverhampton Wanderers had also been heavily linked with the former Porto man before they eventually switched their attention to Craig Dawson.
Felipe will hope to come into contention for the Premier League encounter with Leeds United on February 5.
