Brazil have reportedly not given up hope of convincing Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa to commit his international future to his home nation.
The 25-year-old was born in Brazil and has represented Luiz Felipe Scolari's side twice in friendlies, but it is believed that he has chosen to play his international football for Spain.
However, according to AS, the Brazilian Football Confederation are still confident of convincing the striker to represent Brazil in the World Cup next summer.
Spain have applied for the required citizenship papers, but thus far nothing concrete has been completed, opening the door for Brazil to make a late swoop.
