Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has reportedly signed the necessary documentation that will allow the 25-year-old to represent Spain.
Costa, who received Spanish citizenship this summer, played twice for Brazil – the country of his birth – in friendlies earlier this year.
However, the in-form forward, who has scored 11 times in La Liga this season, has chosen to play his international football for Spain.
According to AS, the necessary documentation has been signed, but the Brazilian Football Federation are preparing to launch an appeal.
Costa is expected to travel with Spain for the World Cup next summer.
