Luis Enrique: 'Neymar has been consistent'

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique says that 'he has always seen Neymar as good as this' following another strong performance from the Brazilian against BATE Borisov.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has denied that Neymar is currently playing his best football of the season for the Catalan outfit.

The Brazilian forward followed his four-goal haul against Rayo Vallecano at the weekend with two assists in Tuesday's 2-0 win over BATE Borisov in the Champions League.

Enrique was asked after the match if Neymar was currently in full flow, but the Spaniard has said that the 23-year-old's level of performance has always been consistent.

"Neymar? Sorry but I've always seen Neymar as good as this. He's not taking a step forward. There's no need to put more pressure on the player," AS quotes Enrique as saying.

Since joining Barcelona from Santos in the summer of 2013, Neymar has scored 62 goals in 101 games for Barcelona.
