Barcelona 'expecting £81m Ivan Rakitic offer'

Barcelona are reportedly expecting Paris Saint-Germain to make an offer of £81m for midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Barcelona are reportedly bracing themselves for an £81m bid from Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The 30-year-old has established himself as a key part of the first-team squad at the Catalan giants, and the Croatia international still has three years remaining on his contract.

However, according to Sport, PSG have identified Rakitic as their priority addition with just a week remaining of the summer transfer window.

The report claims that while PSG are yet to make a formal offer, the French club are ready to make their move if Rakitic indicates that he would like to take on a new challenge at the Parc des Princes.

Rakitic has a release clause of £107m in his contract, but Barca may be tempted to sell for a fee below that figure if Rakitic says that he sees his future elsewhere.
