Borussia Dortmund manager Peter Bosz has revealed that youngster Ousmane Dembele failed to report for training today amid reported interest from Barcelona.
The 20-year-old joined Dortmund last summer for a fee of £13m and scored 10 goals in his debut campaign for the Bundesliga outfit, alerting a number of top clubs across Europe.
Barcelona are flush with cash and in the market for reinforcements following Neymar's world-record £200m departure for Paris Saint-Germain and are said to have Dembele, as well as Liverpool maestro Philippe Coutinho, at the top of their shopping list.
Yesterday it emerged that Dortmund have quoted the La Liga side a fee of £135m for Dembele, a figure that would represent a staggering profit of £122m in just 12 months if realised.
Following the reports, Dembele failed to show up for Dortmund's first-team training session today and did not answer the phone when contacted by the club.
"Dembele wasn't at training today. I have no idea why he wasn't there. We tried to reach him but couldn't," Bosz told Sky Deutschland.
"First I have to talk to Dembele, then he has to explain to me why he wasn't here today. I hope nothing serious happened."
Dembele was previously rumoured to be the subject of a failed approach from Arsenal.
