Dani Parejo: 'I want to stay at Valencia'

Valencia captain Dani Parejo says that he wants to stay with Los Che this summer despite reported interest from Barcelona.

Valencia captain Dani Parejo has insisted that he wants to stay with Los Che this summer despite reported interest from Spanish champions Barcelona.

The 29-year-old, who has been with Valencia since 2011, is believed to be under consideration by Barcelona as the Catalan side look to replace Andres Iniesta and Paulinho.

However, the one-time Spain international has said that he wants to "continue" at Valencia as the club prepares to return to the Champions League for the 2018-19 campaign.

"This is my eighth season at the club and I want to continue here," Parejo told Marca. "All players would be honoured to play for a club like Valencia and I am happy here, I want to stay."

Parejo scored eight times and registered 10 assists in 42 appearances for Valencia last season.
