West Ham United are reportedly on the brink of agreeing a deal with Barcelona that will see Alex Song return to the club on a free transfer.
The Cameroon international, who is also thought to be a summer target for Premier League rivals Chelsea, spent last season on loan at Upton Park.
A report in The Telegraph claims that Barcelona are now ready to drop the £5m asking price for the 27-year-old, and will instead allow him to leave for nothing should West Ham match his £70,000-a-week wages.
Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan admitted earlier this month that the East London outfit were keen to land Song, who qualifies as a home-grown player due to his time spent with Arsenal.
