Blackburn council members have urged Rovers owners Venky's to consult them regarding "communication problems" within the club and the shareholders.
Councillor Kate Hollern is eager to sit down with board member Anuradha Desai following club's sponsor WEC Group's recent consultation with Rovers officials.
"I am concerned to hear both in the papers and in the media that the club, which used to be one of the best run in the country, appears to have very few senior executives running the club in Blackburn on a day-to-day basis," The Mirror quotes Hollern saying in a letter to the businesswoman.
"There appears to be serious communication problems between the club and its stakeholders, which are fuelling the frustration that people are feeling."
The concerns come off the back of the side's disappointing exit from the Carling Cup courtesy of Cardiff City last night.
