Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been sent home from the club's training camp in Spain with bronchitis, BVB have confirmed.
Gundogan recovered from a previous injury to train with his teammates in Spain, but the club doctor Markus Braun has revealed the new setback for the Turkish international.
"Ilkay is already on the road to recovery," Braun told Bundesliga.com.
"Seeing as he wouldn't have taken part in team training here in Spain anyway, we decided together that he would fly back to Germany, where we can better cater to his medical needs."
Gundogan has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the transfer window.
