Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has slammed the media after his side were eliminated from the FA Cup by Bradford City on Sunday.
The Black Cats slipped to a 2-0 reverse at the hands of the League One side at Valley Parade, and Poyet was critical of the press after the game.
He said: "If we close Sunderland - if we put a China wall around the city - it would be fantastic. When we let [the press] in and you get [back] out and say what you want, then we've got a problem.
"The problem is [the media] not me. If you write what I say the fans would be on my side."
Poyet's men return to Premier League action when they host West Bromwich Albion next Saturday.
