Parkinson hopeful of 'strong finish' to the season

Phil Parkinson insists that he is happy with his Bradford City squad, and is hopeful they can finish the season on a high.

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has insisted that the squad of players he has at his disposal are good enough to ensure that this season finishes on a high.

The Bantams, who are currently 13th in the League One table, have not won in their last 11 games.

Despite this, Parkinson says he is happy with what he has following the recent closure of the transfer window.

"We had a chat with the lads this week to basically say to them that the transfer window is gone now and the squad we have here will largely be as it is for the rest of the season," the 46-year-old told the club's official website.

"We feel it is a strong squad with lots of competition in it and we have eighteen games left in the season to prove that, starting with Saturday and Crewe at home.

"We may bring in another defender, we may not, but certainly the squad we have in place now is strong enough to really finish this season strongly. We have told the lads what we want from them and we will certainly be looking for that positive final period of the season."

Following the home match with Crewe Alexander, City travel to Carlisle United.
