Brentford remain top with Bristol City win

Brentford remain two points clear of Leyton Orient at the top of League One courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Bristol City at Griffin Park tonight.

The hosts took a ninth-minute lead through opposition defender Aden Flint, who inadvertently scored past his own goalkeeper Elliot Parish.

Steve Cotterill's men responded well to the setback and provided a swift riposte in the form of an equaliser, with Karleigh Osbourne's 20-yard strike giving goalkeeper David Button no chance.

Parity was not restored for long, though, as Mark Warburton's troops re-established the lead on 26 minutes. Marcello Trotta flicked the ball into the path of Alan Judge, who fired past Parish to edge his team ahead once more.

The duo swapped roles in orchestrating the Bees' third of the evening four minutes before half time, as Judge crossed for the Italian who established a two-goal lead in the scoreline.

City failed in their attempts to reduce the arrears and Warburton's charges held to consolidate their place at the top of England's third tier.
