Brentford have eyed up a potential move for Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis in the upcoming transfer window, according to a report.
The Nigeria international was part of the Hornets side that suffered an immediate return to the Championship during a disappointing 2021-22 Premier League campaign.
However, the 24-year-old's debut season in the English top flight proved to be a successful one despite his side's difficulties, with Dennis netting 10 goals and registering six assists in 33 league appearances.
As a result, several clubs have been credited with an interest in acquiring Dennis this summer, and Watford are said to be open to allowing the forward to leave Vicarage Road in the coming weeks, along with the in-demand Ismaila Sarr.
The latest side to be linked with a move for Dennis is Thomas Frank's Brentford, with the Dane said to desire a partnership of Dennis and Ivan Toney next season, according to a report from The Sun.
Toney enjoyed a successful campaign himself during Brentford's debut Premier League season, netting 12 goals and contributing five assists in 33 league appearances.
However, the 26-year-old carried much of the goalscoring burden for the Bees, and Frank is keen to find a partner capable of taking some of the pressure off his fellow forward.
A £20m fee is said to be required to bring Dennis in from Watford this summer according to the report, who was only signed from Club Brugge in July 2021 for around £3.5m.
