Brighton & Hove Albion announce that captain Lewis Dunk has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that captain Lewis Dunk has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The 31-year-old defender has earned legendary status with his boyhood club having made 416 appearances across all competitions since joining the Seagulls back in 2010.

Thirteen years on from making his Brighton debut in League One, Dunk helped the Seagulls qualify for the Europa League for the first time in the club's history courtesy off a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

Dunk has been an integral first-team player for Brighton for several years, starting 36 Premier League games last season, and has developed into a leader since taking the captain's armband in 2019.

The England international has now decided to commit his future to the American Express Community Stadium by penning fresh terms to keep him on the South-coast until the summer of 2026.

Following the club's announcement on Dunk's new deal, head coach Roberto De Zerbi said: "Long live the captain!"

"I'm really happy he has signed this new contract. It's good news for Lewis and the club."

Dunk's new deal comes just over a week after fellow defender Joel Veltman extended his Brighton contract until June 2025.
