Burnley midfielder Joey Barton has said that his side "needed" their victory over Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers on Saturday in order to stay on course for promotion.
Andre Gray scored the only goal of the game at Turf Moor to send the Clarets back to the top of the Championship table, now four points clear of Hull City in third.
Both the Tigers and second-placed Middlesbrough have a game in hand over Sean Dyche's side, though, and Barton has urged his teammates to maintain their focus over the closing stages of the season.
"We set our sights early on in the season and what we want to achieve and obviously we needed to get three points in order to keep on track," he told Sky Sports News.
"We have to just keep controlling what's in our means. We have a tough game on Tuesday and this game owes you nothing, as the gaffer keeps saying."
Burnley take on struggling Fulham at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
