Burnley will reportedly end their interest in West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez and focus on signing Middlesbrough hitman Britt Assombalonga.
The Clarets allegedly had a £16m offer turned down by the Baggies for Rodriguez, who is said to be a core asset for the West Midlands club in their bid for an immediate return to the Premier League.
According to The Sun, Burnley will now switch their attention to Boro striker Assombalonga, with West Brom also eyeing up a deal for the Congolese international.
The newspaper says that should Rodriguez depart in the coming days, Assombalonga will be Baggies boss Darren Moore's top target for a replacement.
Assombalonga, who began his career with Watford in 2011, has scored 45 goals in 113 Championship outings.
