Gary Rowett excited about Fulham cup tie

Gary Rowett says that his side's match against Fulham in the Capital One Cup is a fantastic draw and a great opportunity for his players to test their ability.

Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett has revealed that he is relishing the prospect of welcoming Premier League outfit Fulham to the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday.

Albion, who host Martin Jol's side in the Capital One Cup second round, will play their first ever home tie in the competition since winning promotion to League Two in 2009.

"I suppose it's unusual to have so many away ties on the trot but finally, after four years of waiting, we have been drawn at home," he told reporters.

"And it's a fantastic draw. You are ideally looking for a Premier League team, and I think it will be the first time we have played a top-flight team too in the competition, and we have got one and it's a chance to test ourselves against the best.

"It will be an occasion. It will be nice for our fans to see us play a Premier League team at our own stadium."

Burton beat Sheffield United away in the first round.
