Team News: Hugo Lloris handed League Cup final start

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris starts the League Cup final against Chelsea in place of Michel Vorm, coming in for his first appearance in this year's competition.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has opted to select Hugo Lloris in goals for this afternoon's League Cup final against Chelsea.

Back-up stopper Michel Vorm has started all five previous games in Spurs's run to the final, conceding just three goals during that time, but Lloris is given the nod for the Wembley showdown.

Elsewhere, in-form striker Harry Kane has been recalled to the fold following the disappointing Europa League defeat at Fiorentina on Thursday, while Pochettino has once more shown faith in Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason in midfield, with the latter one of five Englishman in the Tottenham starting lineup.

Jose Mourinho has decided to go with Petr Cech between the sticks, meaning that Thibaut Courtois has to make do with a place among the substitutes.

Mourinho has also sprung a surprise by seemingly naming Gary Cahill in midfield in the absence of the suspended Namanja Matic, as the Portuguese aims to win his first piece of silverware since returning to the Premier League club 19 months ago.

Tottenham: Lloris, Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose, Bentaleb, Mason, Chadli, Eriksen, Townsend, Kane
Subs: Vorm, Davies, Fazio, Dembele, Stambouli, Lamela, Soldado

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Azpilicueta, Ramires, Cahill, Fabregas, Willian, Diego Costa, Hazard
Subs: Courtois, Filipe Luis, Ake, Oscar, Cuadrado, Drogba, Remy
