Liverpool could set a new club unbeaten record against Chelsea when the Reds tackle the managerless Blues at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday in the Premier League.

Liverpool could record their best-ever run away against Chelsea when they face the managerless Blues in Tuesday's Premier League clash.

Stamford Bridge has been a relatively happy hunting ground in recent memory for Liverpool, who have not lost a Premier League game on Chelsea's turf since the 2017-18 season.

Since going down 1-0 to the blues during their Antonio Conte era, Liverpool have taken eight points from their last four games at Stamford Bridge, picking up a pair of wins and a pair of draws.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the 2018-19 season before the Reds ran out 2-1 winners in 2019-20, and they made it back-to-back successes with a 2-0 triumph in 2020-21.

Last term, Jurgen Klopp's side came away from West London with a point in an enthralling 2-2 stalemate, although they threw away a two-goal lead to draw with the capital side.

Should Liverpool manage to avoid defeat on Tuesday evening, it will mark the first time in their history that they have gone five league games at Stamford Bridge without losing.

The Reds' overall unbeaten streak against Chelsea now stands at five games since a 1-0 Anfield loss in March 2021, having played out a goalless draw with the Blues at Anfield in January.

However, no goals have been scored in 90 minutes across the last three meetings between Chelsea and Liverpool, who won the FA and EFL Cup finals on penalties last season.

Both English giants have experienced turmoil on and off the field in the build-up to Tuesday's game, with Chelsea relieving Graham Potter of his duties on Sunday evening as they lie 11th in the table.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's losing streak stretched to three games with a 4-1 defeat away to Manchester City, who came from a goal behind to demolish the Reds on Saturday lunchtime.

Defeat to the champions bumped Liverpool down to eighth in the rankings, with Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford leapfrogging the Reds thanks to their 3-3 draw at the Amex Stadium.

Commenting on Potter's sacking in his pre-game press conference, Klopp admitted that his historical achievements with Liverpool had largely kept him in a job this season, but he is not fearful of being given the boot.

"I'm not afraid [of the sack], no. There's no need for being afraid, I need to deliver. I am not here as a mural on house walls, I am here to deliver," Klopp told reporters.

"I'm aware of the fact that I am sitting here because of the past, not because of what we did this season. We have smart owners - they know about the situation. If this was my first season, it would be slightly different."

Liverpool will be without Stefan Bajcetic (adductor), Luis Diaz (knee), Calvin Ramsay (knee), Naby Keita (muscle) and Thiago Alcantara (hip) for the trip to Stamford Bridge, but Klopp has affirmed that changes will be made as Roberto Firmino, Darwin Nunez, James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas push for recalls to the first XI.
