John Terry has suggested to Chelsea that he would be willing to sign a new one-year deal, according to reports.
The 33-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the season and he has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge on a number of occasions.
Terry has been reluctant to commit to signing a short-term contract but Chelsea are only open to offering the central defender a short-term deal, according to the Daily Mail.
Despite being eager to agree a longer deal, Terry is now likely to pledge his future to the club before the end of the campaign.
Terry has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season.
