Tottenham Hotspur make five changes for Thursday's Premier League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham Hotspur have made five changes for Thursday's Premier League game at Chelsea.

Head coach Ange Postecoglou is reacting to Spurs' 3-2 defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday when the North Londoners found themselves 3-0 down at half time.

Ben Davies and Timo Werner had already been ruled out through injuries sustained during that fixture, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and James Maddison have also dropped out of the side.

Emerson Royal has been chosen as the option at left-back, while Richarlison comes into the attack with Son Heung-min switching to the left flank.

Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma get the nod in midfield, with Dejan Kulusevski seemingly being used more centrally and Brennan Johnson occupying the spot on the right wing.

Meanwhile, Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has opted for minimal tinkering to his starting lineup after the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa.

With Thiago Silva missing out with a groin issue, Alfie Gilchrist has been restored at right-back and Trevoh Chalobah subsequently moving inside into the middle.

Chelsea have as many as 14 senior players absent for this contest, throwing open the possibility of Cesare Casadei being handed a first Chelsea start in order to have at least one experienced option in reserve.

Instead, the Italian midfielder has been selected among the replacements, remarkably being the most experienced outfield replacement with 40 minutes spread across seven Premier League substitute appearances.

Chelsea: Petrovic; Gilchrist, Chalobah, Badiashile, Cucurella; Caicedo, Gallagher, Palmer; Madueke, Jackson, Mudryk

Subs: Bettinelli, Sturge, Acheampong, Casadei, Castledine, Tauriainen, George, Dyer, Washington

Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Emerson; Bissouma, Sarr, Kulusevski; Johnson, Richarlison, Son

Subs: Austin, Dragusin, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Maddison, Lo Celso, Bryan, Moore
